A crushing disappointment. They should not advertise it as a Tillinghast course if they are not going to keep it so. Hole #1 is a joke; loft a five wood over the trees directly in front of the tee box and you have maybe 75 yards in to the green. Every green side bunker on the course had pulled away from the greens over time (100 years) and left large gaps of rough and fringe between hazard and putting surface. That actually slows down play as the better players may just miss the green and stay out of the sand, but higher handicappers have a better chance of finding the bunkers. Biggest joke of all is the name "resort"; for those of us who like a beer and sandwich after a round, you won't get it here. And to think that to build the "clubhouse" (actually just a pro shop) and parking lot they had to blow up Tillinghast's Hole #1. All that said, the course is okay and cheap enough to satisfy those not expecting too much. My full review at OffTheBeatenCartPath.com

Designed by AW Tillinghast so if you are into the History of the Game it is a nice experience. Alot of rain this summer probably impacted the condition of the fairways and greens. Back nine has 3 par 5's, 3 par 4's and 3 par 3's, always a nice change to the standard. From Albany, NY, can make the trip in 2 hours 15 minutes up the Northway to exit 36....
